My friend Holly showed me this story she wrote for a writing class. It is SO sad. I almost cried. Please comment and tell me what you think of it.
Jenny Rash has beautiful blue eyes, and soft honey colored hair. She is
four foot seven inches tall. she has an adorable face and personality.
She is rasied by her single mother, Amanda Rash. She has had a very hard
life. Her mother tries her hardest to support them, but it sometimes is
not enough. Her father ran off when she was five years old. She hardly
remembers him and she despises him for leaving. Jenny can not understand
why her own father would leave her and her mother. Even though she is
only eight, she can remember that day her father left. Every single
detail, every word he said to he before he left.
When she was two, it was the best time of her life. She loved her
daddy dearly. They would have the best picnics, the best walks, the best
hikes, the best daddy daughter dates, and they had the most amazing bed
time stories. She loved his laugh so much, that when he told her a
funny joke, all she could wait for was his laugh. It was music to her
ears.
Over the next year, Jenny's father changed. He changed so much
that she never heard him laugh again. She cried herself to sleep when he
would hit her before bed, or when she didn't obey him. She loved him so
much still that she clung to the hope that he would remember all the
fun they had together. She longed for him to hold her gently in his arms and sing her to sleep. But most of all, Jenny wanted to hear her father say, "I love you Jenny."
The day of Jenny's 5'th birthday was the worst day of her life.
When she woke up, she ran to see her parents and tell them that she
loved them and tell them that it was her birthday. She raced to her
parents room and burst in with a huge grin. She could hardly contain her
excitement. When she looked around the room, she saw a sight that she
would never forget. She saw her father hitting her mother. She was horrified. As soon as she screamed,
her fathers movements ceased. With tears streaming down her face, she
ran to help her mom. To help the one parent who truly loved her. The man
she once loved and called father, walked away. That was when she knew
that he was out of her life forever. She knew that he would never come
back, never tell her that he loved her and she would never hear the
melodious sound of his laughter ever again.
Wow. I almost cried too. And trust me, I rarely cry when I watch or read something. It is such a shame that that kind of thing happens all the time. I'm really grateful that my dad is not like that.
ReplyDeleteWow Wes, you didn't even tell me you posted this! Every time I read it I want to cry, I still can't believe I can write such sad stories.
